Acknowledging our Outstanding School Support StaffThis week we formally recognise the wonderful contribution School Support Staff make to our school community. It is a time to celebrate their vital and skilled work in supporting staff and students. Support Staff undertake a wide range of roles in our school, focussed either around administration or curriculum support.
As admin support officers they help to coordinate, plan and run a wide range of school functions e.g. looking after student medications, diabetes management, the grounds, organising special functions, monitoring facilities, tracking our finances and much, much more, the list is endless. Curriculum support includes keeping our library functioning well, managing our ICT network, running the canteen, providing special needs support and working with large and small groups of students as well as providing one on one tutoring for others. The skills dedication and energy that our Support Staff bring to their work in assisting student learning and wellbeing makes a significant difference to student achievement. Best of all, support staff at Ardtornish work as a collaborative team sharing roles and generously stepping into support each other and staff as the need arises. On behalf of the whole school community we would like to express the appreciation we have for each and everyone of them. Mark & Deb. |

Cheer and Hip Hop Nationals Competition
The Cheer and Hip Hop Nationals Competition was held on August 11th and 12th, our Future Legends Team - Sky Lights secured a fantastic second place, while the Primary Team - Shooting Stars earned a commendable third place. Both teams made notable strides with their performances and scores compared to the State Finals. The competition was incredibly tight for the Primary Cheer category, with our team narrowly edging out fourth place by just 0.35%. Although the Primary Hip Hop team—Flawless—didn't place this time, they delivered another strong performance and showed improvement over their State Finals score. A huge congratulations to all our dance teams for their exceptional efforts this season! Save the Date – Dance Trials

Impressive Performance at UNAA World Championships
At the recent Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association (UNAA) World Championships, Ella S faced significant challenges but showed remarkable resilience in the competition. In her first event, the sheer scale of the venue and the number of competitors and spectators were overwhelming, leading to some missed opportunities. Despite these initial setbacks, she finished in 119th place. However, on the following day, she demonstrated incredible determination by putting the previous day's difficulties behind her. She went on to achieve an impressive 15th place in the US National event. The night before her third competition, she experienced a severe asthma attack. Despite the challenge of a 3km course, she persevered, taking her time to complete it. Following the competition, she even needed medical attention. Her tenacity has not gone unnoticed, as she has since received an invitation to compete in another event in a different ninja league. Well Done Ella! School Card needs to be applied for every year. You can also collect a paper copy from the front office. Click the link below to find out more information and to apply online.

Last week Room 22, joined thousands of classrooms across the country to take part in Bullying No Way Week! It’s an important time where we come together to talk about how we can make sure everyone feels safe, respected, and happy at school.
Bullying hurts, but when we all work together to show kindness and stand up for one another, we can make our school a place where everyone belongs.
Feeling like you belong is so important because it helps you make friends, feel confident, and do your best in everything you try.
In our class we read the Rainbow Fish story. We then created our own Rainbow Fish, they were all different, but they all belonged, just like each of us in Room 22.
This is what some of the student’s from Room 22 thought about belonging:
Harry – belonging is feeling safe.
Riley - belonging is being different and it doesn’t matter.
Arham – belonging is being kind to others.
Tess – belonging means it doesn’t matter if you look different, it’s about how you feel in your heart.
