The children in room 22 have been caring for their own herb garden. The reception children take turns watering and weeding and the herbs are growing very well. We would like to extend a big thank you to Mercedes Savelli, the Activities Organiser at Bunnings Modbury for donating plants, soil and watering cans. Pancake Day
Pancake Day was a total blast! We had the most delicious pancakes ever, served by the SRC, parent volunteers and helpers from room 6. We loved serving pancakes to all the students and kept our space tidy and clean. The money was donated to UnitingCare who come out to support our community occasionally. Some of us helped mix the batter for the pancakes, getting messy was lots of fun. We raised approximately $1000. A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped us to make Pancake Day possible. Our parent volunteers, Paul and Mandy were all phenomenal, without you we wouldn’t have been able to cook and serve over 800 pancakes! And lastly a big thank you to the students for supporting UnitingCare by ordering a pancake or two. Did you enjoy Pancake Day? We did! Written by Sovereign and Harveen. |

On the 26 of March, Neil Davis from the Sammy D Foundation came to speak to our school about how much one punch can do. He also spoke to us about the story behind why the Sammy D Foundation started. He also talked about how one soft punch ended his own son’s, Sam Davis's life, and ruined the lives of many other family and friends. After the presentation, Neil split us up into groups. We were then asked some questions including what we would do if we were in this position. Neil explained to us the purpose of the Sammy D foundation, he said that the reason behind the Sammy D foundation is that he doesn't want this to happen to anyone else. Remember if there looks like there might be trouble, walk away and get help. Also, try to talk your mates out of acting violently. Written by Elijah Waldron and Oliver Hall |
