Angus Wins 2018 Sports DayLast Thursday’s Sports Day was a great success in spite of being shortened due to the hot weather. Once again students and families joined in the spirit of the day and dressed in team colours to bring a sense of fun and celebration to the proceedings.
Thanks to everyone for participating so well and to all family members who came along to support the day. Angus 1st : 240 pts. - Kerr 2nd : 224 pts. - Tolley 3rd : 197 pts. - Newman 4th : 172 ptsAll Team Captains and Vice Captains made a strong contribution to the success of the day as they encouraged students to join in war cries and enter into events with enthusiasm, while showing great values as sportspersons.
Naplan Information 2018
In 2018 Naplan will be delivered at Ardtornish through an online process for Year 3, 5, and 7 students. All components of the test: numeracy, reading, writing, spelling and grammar and will be undertaken online with the exception of writing for the Year 3’s because of their less developed typing skills and speeds.
Students with Chromebooks will use their own devices and undertake the tests using a locked down browser that ensures they cannot access other websites for support or use a spelling checker. Ardtornish will be doing the NAPLAN tests in Week 3 of Term 2. However, prior to this time a few classes will undertake a technical readiness test on Thursday 22nd March to ensure our school systems are effective. Parents wanting to learn more about the NAPLAN tests can visit an information page to see examples of the online test environment for years 3,5,and 7. Go to.... https://www.nap.edu.au/online-assessment/public-demonstration-site NAPLAN Online will provide better assessment, more precise results and faster turnaround of information. NAPLAN Online features ‘tailored testing’ which gives students questions that are more suited to their ability – resulting in better assessment and more precise results. You can watch an ACARA’s video about how tailored testing will feature in NAPLAN Online: https://youtu.be/q3A12wxvoJU |
