Take a Stand Against Bullying
This week our students attended a performance entitled The Protectors. They learnt about the importance of being assertive, rather than passive or aggressive should they encounter bullying. The Protectors' is an emotional wellbeing resource that has been researched and developed in association with teachers and students. It offers concrete solutions children can practice to protect themselves from hurtful comments and negative behaviours they may encounter
Throughout the performance, clear instructions on cyber safety were delivered in a fun, memorable way. Children were able to empathise and appreciate the devastating consequences of cyber bullying. They were encouraged to use their “cyber protect tools “of Tell, Block, Delete.
'The Protectors' unlocked the secrets of body language and gave 'Protector Tools' to curb aggressive behaviour.

Enrolments 2019Later this term we will be looking at predicted student numbers for next year. Accurate enrolment details are needed so we can determine numbers for our classes.
Therefore if your family is considering moving, it is important that you let us know, as well as your new school, as soon as possible. If you have a younger sibling to start next year and you haven't completed an enrolment form yet, please come in and speak to the front office staff. 2019 Preschoolers enrolments in OSHC
As of January 2019 Ardtornish OSHC can no longer accept preschool enrolments.
As Outside School hours Care is primarily for school children, and the demand for care within the school is increasing, in 2019 we can only safely and economically manage to provide care to students of Ardtornish Primary and surrounding schools. Please refer to Skoolbag, Google+ or obtain a hardcopy from the front office for further information. Recognising those who give a little and change a lot. National Volunteers Week kicks off Monday 21st May to recognise and thank more than 25,000 volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to help out in schools, preschools and children centres.
Ardtornish Primary School will be having a morning tea to thank all of our wonderful volunteers on Wednesday June 27th, invitations will be sent out shortly. |
Flat Stanley's Holiday Adventures - Room 24
Room 24 took Flat Stanley home during the holidays so he could enjoy time with his fellow class mates.
How many adventures did he have! Stanley (for short) travelled to Darwin with a quick stop in Alice Springs. He went bowling, spent several days on the giant Rocking Horse, he went to lots of football matches, travelled on a plane to the MCG, saw the ultrasound of his host families brother or sister, he went to lots of different parks, cooked lots of dinners, played games, made new friends, both human and animal. Stanley was such a busy guy and at the moment he is visiting London, we can’t wait to see those photos.
Stanley had such a lovely time and we look forward to his adventures during term 2. He may be lucky enough to go on our camp!
