Ardtornish Children’s Centre ProgramTo view the Centre’s program see our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ArdtornishCC A Farewell After an 11-year stint I am leaving my position as the Ardtornish Children’s Centre Community Development Coordinator on 18 November. My sincere gratitude to the local communities for their support and interest in the Children Centre Family and Community programs. Yours is a generous community. A special thanks to the many parents who have provided tips, time, and energy to keep our programs viable and manageable, and to the Ardtornish PS staff, especially Mark, Deb, Cathie, Vanessa, and Paul, for their unflagging support for all that we have done over the years. Thanks also to the staff and community team at the Tea Tree Gully Council, and the TTG Community Services Forum for their insights. None of what I have done would be possible without the progressive and enlightened leadership of our director, Heather Fuss. I am unsure of what the future holds for the community programs at the Centre, but the on-site playgroups, CaFHS groups and clinic, midwifery, Early Years OT and Relationships Australia’s programs will continue. My very best wishes to all. John Buckell Community Development Coordinator 8264 9828 Thankyou to everyone who purchased a bandanna and raised money for Canteen. We purchased 261 bandannas which raised a total of $1306.00.

In Week 1 of Term 4, the Year 6’s from Room 6, 4 and 8 attended the Murraylands Aquatics Camp.
We had an amazing time and were able to participate in six aquatics activities. We tried paddle boarding, knee boarding, skiing, kayaking, catamarans and small boat handling. Some of us had never been to the River before, so this was a huge learning curve and so much fun!
We saw different wildlife including snakes, pelicans, ducks, sulphur crested cockatoos, swans, and 1,000,000 mosquitoes. We even saw a bearded dragon.
We had a great time building our tents and setting up our camp. We played hide and seek, wink murder and spotlight. We had a great time hanging out with our friends, eating delicious food and surviving on minimal sleep. It was an awesome camp!
