Final Scores:   Kerr  269    Tolley  248     Angus  243     Newman  216
Thursday 10th November was a fun filled day. Once again students and families joined in the spirit of the occasion and dressed in team colours to bring a sense of joy and celebration to the proceedings as the Team Captains and Vice Captains encouraged students to join in team chants and play with enthusiasm, fairness and positive sporting skills. Thanks to everyone for participating so well, especially family members who supported the day as visitors or helpful volunteers.

The sandpit is open and the kids really dig it!

Last week, students finally gained access to the new nature play and sandpit area. A roster has been established so it is a safe and manageable space, as students experience it for the first time.
The area includes sitting areas and a maze of logs to climb on. When the trees eventually grow the space will be a shaded forest that will create a welcoming place for students to meet with friends and relax. A new height adjustable basketball ring is also a part of this area, and it is set to a level that meet the needs of younger students.
The sloping lawns running down to the oval, are to be top dressed in the next few weeks and we are keeping them out of bounds until the lawn is fully established. We do not yet have a timeline on when the portable buildings will be removed but once they are, work will begin on repairing the previous JP Oval and turning it into two play spaces joined by a strip of natureplay.

Yesterday our school gym resounded with the thunderous drumbeats of Japanese taiko drumming! ‘Taiko’ literally means ‘big drum’ and the group began with a heart-thumping song that grabbed everyone’s attention.
Director Katie Daly shared some fascinating taiko history, such as how it was used to lead samurai into battle. The audience interacted with taps, claps and whoops of ‘SU!’ that both staff and students proved very adept at! Some lucky students were able to try out the taiko drums on stage, as seen in the photo.
They were Max (room 4), Ella, Charlie, Harper & Matisse (rooms 9 & 10), Annika (room 29), James (room 27) and Jamieson (room 17). Thank you to Matsuri Taiko for your energizing performance!
