Acknowledging students outstanding skills, talents and service to the Ardtornish school community.
At Tuesday night’s Graduation ceremony, held at Sfera’s on the Park, over 295 family members and staff, saw 45 students graduate in a night of speeches, performances and presentations. The highlight of the night was the presentation of various awards to students to acknowledge their outstanding achievements and contributions to APS.
The ‘Student of the Year Award’ was presented to Zac S by Dr Richard Harvey to acknowledge his outstanding all round achievements throughout the year.
The ‘Sports Award’ went to Tyrone S, presented by Daniel Gehling for his outstanding level of participation and achievement in sport.
The ‘Florey Music Award’ was presented by The Honourable Frances Bedford MP to Maddelen L in recognition of her musical achievements.
Tyson W received The ‘Technology Award’ presented by Steve Whitehead to recognize his ICT achievements.
The ‘Reading Mentor Award’ was presented to Riley D by Carla Cafasso and Natalie Hall for mentoring JP students in reading.
The ‘Community Service Award’ was presented to Phoebe D and Charlotte S for their significant contribution to our schools community.
The ‘Japanese Award’ presented by Deb Pryor and Sensei Baldock went to Tyson N and Viktor J for their achievements in Japanese.

Congratulations to all our winners for contributing so much to our school community.

We wish all graduates the very best for the future and know that they will be great ambassadors for our school.

A special thanks to the Year 7 teaching team of Daniel Gehling, Natalie Hall, Dale Morton, Isaac Radan and SSO Michelle von Einem who organized an outstanding and memorable event.

Change of School times in 2020 with a 3:00 pm finish
In 2020 the school will be adjusting its hours of operation so the school day ends at 3:00 p.m.  Our starting time will remain the same, at 8:50 a.m. but the day will finish 15 minutes earlier.
This change will bring us into alignment with other local schools and ensure that teachers are on duty for the correct times specified in their industrial award. For the past 10 years teachers at Ardtornish have been generously working an extra 15 minutes a day and a recent review of our school times highlighted this discrepancy that needs to be addressed.

Thankyou Commonwealth Banking Volunteers
Farewell to our long-term Commonwealth Banking volunteers...
We are very sad to have to say goodbye to Annemarie and Kaye after many years volunteering on a Thursday morning each week processing the banking for our students. Both ladies have been actively involved volunteering in many ways at our school whilst their children/grandchildren have been at Ardtornish Primary School. On behalf of the bankers, thank you so much Annemarie and Kaye.

Kanga Cricket
Kanga Cricket at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday December 1st during the lunch break of the Test Cricket match!
Our team was invited to be part of the cricket program at Adelaide Oval during the lunch break between Australia and Pakistan.  Students were able to display their skills in front of thousands of cricket fans!  What a lucky group of cricketers they are!
